Questions drivers ask
Dispatch FAQ
Do I need my own MC authority?
Yes. We dispatch for carriers with active MC authority, at least $100,000 in cargo insurance, and $1,000,000 in auto liability. If your authority is new we can still work with you, though some brokers require 90 days of history.
How fast will I get my first load?
Most drivers are booked within 48 hours of sending us a complete packet. The slow part is broker setups, and we start those the same day you sign on.
Is the percentage taken before or after fuel surcharge?
Line haul only. Fuel surcharge, detention, layover, lumper reimbursements, and TONU pay go to you in full.
Can I turn down a load?
Always. No forced dispatch. Tell your dispatcher what you will not haul or where you will not go and it stays off your board.
Do you handle factoring or do I need my own?
You keep your own factoring company and we submit invoices and paperwork to them. If you do not have one, we can introduce you to two or three that our carriers use.
What happens if I break down mid load?
Call the dispatch line at any hour. We notify the broker, renegotiate the delivery appointment, arrange a swap if the freight is time sensitive, and pull up repair options near you.
Do you dispatch hazmat and oversize?
Yes, with the right endorsements and insurance on your side. We check routing restrictions and coordinate permits before you accept the load.
Is there a contract?
A simple dispatch agreement with 30 days notice on either side. No minimum term and no exit fee.
Still have a question?
Call the dispatch line and ask. If we are not the right fit for your operation we will tell you that on the first call.
